I would like to wish all my readers who celebrate Christmas a very Happy Christmas. I hope the new year brings everyone peacefulness and contentedness. I have been quiet on the blog lately since I have been recharging my batteries (and mind !).
Im very aware that this time of year is hard for many. It is tough to face reminders of what isn’t, what could have been and remembering family and friends who are no longer with us. Plus, often people have more time on their hands, aren’t in their ordinary routines, and use substances to ‘celebrate’ this time of year.
This is a hard post to write, because the I know the pain is real and raw, and no amount of platitudes can help. I guess my best advice for dealing with it is to try and accept ‘It for what it is’. Try to remove the emotion from the ‘facts’, distract yourself and yes… be kind to yourself.
